Dec. 7th, 1941

"..December 7th, 1941 -- a date which will live in infamy -- the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan."
-Franklin D. Roosevelt
December 8th, 1941 to Congress

From the Navy Archives..
"On that fateful day, the Japanese Navy secretly sent aircraft over Oahu in two massive waves. Of 96 warships present in Pearl Harbor, 18 of the major ones were sunk or damaged.."

DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY -- NAVAL HISTORICAL CENTER
Let's all remember the Hero's who gave their lives that day, and everyday after, so that we could enjoy OUR freedom.

"No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost, but will make it very certain that this form of treachery shall never again endanger us.

Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory, and our interests are in grave danger.

With confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph -- so help us God."

This is how FDR ended his speech to Congress. Still fitting today.

Our Boys and Girls are still fighting the good fight "Over There". Have you said "Thanks" to a Soldier, Airman, Marine, Sailor or Coast Guardsman lately?

"For Those on Eternal Patrol.. Thank You, We will NEVER Forget.."
